Our Teachers

At Les Tournesols Preschool, we pride ourselves in having superior educators for our students! Our teachers are fluent French-speakers and are deeply invested in the education, development and well-being of their students. At the beginning of class, each child is personally greeted by a teacher and receives one-on-one time at many points throughout the class. Our teachers are committed to providing every child with a fun, nurturing and educational experience each and every day.

Madame Jennifer

Even from a young age, Madame Jennifer has always enjoyed teaching. She started coaching figure skating at the age of 17 and continued doing so for the following 10 years. During this time she ran a skating club in Hazelton, British Columbia for two years and coached in Prince Rupert, British Columbia after that. She worked at the YMCA in Fort MacMurray as well as the Military Family Resource Center (MFRC) Daycare.

Madame Jennifer grew up in bilingual house hold as both her parents are French-speaking. She received her ECE (Early Childhood Education) from Sprott Shaw Community College in Penticton, British Columbia.

Madame Jennifer has been teaching at Les Tournesols Preschool since September 2012 and her favourite part of her job is her students. She loves all their stories, enthusiasm and loves helping them succeed. She enjoys having the opportunity to teach preschoolers new things about the world around them and the French language.

When time allows for it, Madame Jennifer enjoys knitting and scrapbooking. However, most of her free time is spent helping her husband on projects around the yard or garage.

Madame Caroline

We are very excited to welcome our new teacher, Madame Caroline. She will be taking over Madame Jocelyne's position for the 2015-2016 school year.

Madame Caroline grew up in Sherbrooke, Quebec where French was her first language. She later lived in Quebec City for eight years followed by three years in Nova Scotia.

Madame Caroline has always loved working with children. While living in Nova Scotia she spent two years working at "Le Petit Voilier", a Francophone Daycare. She also spent a year as an after school guard. In 2007, she moved to the beautiful city of St. Albert and over the past four years has operated a dayhome where she cared for children from 18 months to 4 years old.

Madame Caroline has three wonderful children of her own, two girls and one boy. She loves reading, crafting and working with children, making her perfectly suited to preschool education. Her passion in life is to be surrounded by children!
